North Carolina High School Baseball - Swain County sneaks past Murphy

March 13, 2026: Bryson City, NC 28713

In Friday's league game, the host Swain County Maroon Devils baseball team scored a close 4-3 victory over the Murphy Bulldogs.

The Maroon Devils (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Cherokee (Cherokee, NC). The Braves enter the Smoky Mountain 1A/2A game with a 1-4 record. In their last game, Cherokee held off Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC), 29-21, in a league game.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Towns County Indians (Hiawassee, GA) in a non-league match, on Monday, March 16. Murphy will attempt to move on its 2-4 season record. The Indians come into the match with a 6-4 record after their 13-2 league win over Lincoln County (Lincolnton, GA).
