The Nelson County Governors baseball team scored 16 runs and limited the host Parry McCluer Fighting Blues to 1 in the Governors non-league victory on Monday.
The Governors (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA). The Bison go into the non-league match with a 0-3 record. In their last match, Buffalo Gap was overwhelmed by Luray (Luray, VA), 7-3, in a non-league match.
The Fighting Blues (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA). The Wildcats go into the non-league match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Rockbridge County gained a win over James River (Buchanan, VA), 12-8, in a non-league match.
