East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Denham Springs Yellowjackets (Denham Springs, LA), 9-3 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Live Oak for a 5A District 4 challenge on Thursday, March 16. East Ascension will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 8-6 non-league loss to O. Perry Walker (New Orleans, LA). The Eagles record now stands at 18-1.

With the loss, Denham Springs falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Livonia (Livonia, LA) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 15. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 7-6. Livonia won 21-1 in their recent league challenge against Opelousas (Opelousas, LA)
