Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Western Guilford Hornets (Greensboro, NC), 23-1 in a league challenge.

The Whirlies now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ragsdale for a Metro 4A challenge on Thursday, March 16. Grimsley will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Williams (Burlington, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Western Guilford falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Mount Tabor (Winston-Salem, NC) to battle the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 16. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Mount Tabor lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Davie (Mocksville, NC)
