Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA) and the visiting Madison County Mountaineers (Madison, VA), witnessed William Monroe's softball squad tip Madison County by a count of 11-10.

The Dragons now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Goochland for a non-league match on Friday, March 17. William Monroe will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 12-1 non-league loss to King William (King William, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Madison County moves to 0-1 on the season. The Mountaineers host Orange County (Orange, VA) to meet the Fighting Hornets in a non-league match on Friday, March 17. The Fighting Hornets go into the match with a record of 1-1. Orange County lost 2-1 in their recent league match against Louisa County (Mineral, VA)
