Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 20-7 in a league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hoke County for a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 17. Southern Lee will face a Bucks squad coming off a 13-8 non-league win over Jack Britt (Fayetteville, NC). The Bucks record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Pinecrest falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Patriots host Montgomery Central (Troy, NC) to face the Timberwolves in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 15. The Timberwolves enter the challenge with a record of 3-3. Montgomery Central won 7-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Anson (Wadesboro, NC)
