Cocoa Beach Minutemen (Cocoa Beach, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Palm Bay Pirates (Melbourne, FL), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Minutemen now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host Space Coast for a 3A District 8 challenge on Wednesday, March 20. Cocoa Beach will battle a Vipers squad coming off a 20-4 non-league loss to Rockledge (Rockledge, FL). The Vipers record now stands at 3-8.

With the loss, Palm Bay falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Eau Gallie (Melbourne, FL) to battle the Commodores in a 4A District 8 game on Monday, March 18. The Commodores come into the game with a record of 6-2. Eau Gallie won 9-0 in their recent league game against Satellite (Satellite Beach, FL)
