Westchester Comets (Los Angeles, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Los Angeles CES Unicorns (Los Angeles, CA), 41-40 in a league challenge.

The Comets now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Venice for a Western challenge on Monday, March 18. Westchester will face a Gondoliers squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Palisades (Pacific Palisades, CA). The Gondoliers record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Los Angeles CES falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Unicorns travel to Fairfax (Los Angeles, CA) to face the Lions in a Western challenge on Monday, March 18. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Fairfax won 16-4 in their recent league challenge against University (Los Angeles, CA)
