In Friday's league game, the visiting Cleburne Yellowjackets baseball team scored a close 9-8 win over the Centennial Spartans.

The Yellowjackets (16-3) will now prepare for their game against Joshua (Joshua, TX). The Owls enter the 5A Region I District 8 battle with a 7-6 record. In their last battle, Joshua held off Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, TX), 13-11, in a league battle.

Next, the Spartans face the Mansfield Summit Jaguars (Arlington, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 battle, on Tuesday, March 18. Centennial will attempt to upgrade on its 6-8 season record. The Jaguars enter the battle with a 6-13 record after their 17-7 league win over Seguin (Arlington, TX).
