In Friday's non-league bout, the Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA) baseball squad the visiting Natchitoches Central Chiefs (Natchitoches, LA), by a tally of 5-1.

Next up, the Bearcats encounter the Ouachita Parish Lions (Monroe, LA) in a 5A District 2 bout, on Saturday, March 15. Ruston will attempt to upgrade on its 11-6 season record.

The Chiefs (9-7) will now prepare for their bout against Airline (Bossier City, LA). The Vikings enter the 5A District 1 bout with a 10-6 record. In their last bout, Airline edged Captain Shreve (Shreveport, LA), 8-2, in a league bout.
