Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Mission Eagles (Mission, TX), 1-0 in a league game.

With the triumph, Rio Grande City upgrades its record to 10-3 on the year. The Rattlers travel to Roma (Roma, TX) to play the Gladiators in a 5A Region IV District 30 game on Tuesday, March 18. The Gladiators enter the game with a record of 1-12. Roma lost 8-1 in their recent league bout against Palmview (La Joya, TX)

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Cigarroa Toros (Laredo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout, on Tuesday, March 18. Mission will attempt to advance on its 5-8 season record. The Toros go into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 14-2 league loss to Nixon (Laredo, TX).
