North Carolina High School Softball - South Brunswick nudges Ashley

March 15, 2022: Southport, NC 28461

South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Laney for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 18. South Brunswick will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 5-0 league win over North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Ashley falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Screaming eagle travel to Pender (Burgaw, NC) to face the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 16. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Pender lost 14-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Laney (Wilmington, NC)
