Cabrillo Jaguars (Long Beach, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Whitney Wildcats (Cerritos, CA), 16-13 in a non-league challenge.

The Jaguars now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they host Woodrow Wilson for a Moore challenge on Tuesday, March 22.

With the loss, Whitney falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Cerritos (Cerritos, CA) to face the Dons in a 605 challenge on Friday, March 18. The Dons enter the challenge with a record of 3-1. Cerritos won 10-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Valley Christian (Cerritos, CA)
