Northwood Chargers (Pittsboro, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Williams Bulldogs (Burlington, NC), 13-9 in a league challenge.

The Chargers now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Cedar Ridge for a Central 3A challenge on Friday, March 18. Northwood will face a Fighting Red Wolves squad coming off a 15-2 league loss to Person (Roxboro, NC). The Fighting Red Wolves record now stands at 5-2.

With the loss, Williams falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Morehead (Eden, NC) to face the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 16. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Morehead lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Uwharrie Charter (Asheboro, NC)
