The El Cerrito Gauchos held off the visiting Pinole Valley Spartans volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Wednesday's league test.

The Gauchos now have a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bentley for a non-league test on Wednesday, March 22. El Cerrito will confront a Phoenix team coming off a 2-0 league loss to St. Joseph Notre Dame (Alameda, CA). The Phoenix record now stands at 2-1.

The Spartans (2-1) will now prepare for their test against De Anza (El Sobrante, CA). The Dons enter the test with a 2-3 record. In their last test, De Anza was nudged by El Cerrito (El Cerrito, CA), 2-1, in a league test.
