The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC) and the visiting Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC), saw Purnell Swett's softball squad nip Triton by a count of 6-5.

The Rams now sport a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to South View for a United Eight 3A/4A match on Friday, March 17. Purnell Swett will face a Tigers squad coming off a 5-0 league win over Lumberton (Lumberton, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, Triton falls to 6-3 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Terry Sanford (Fayetteville, NC) to face the Bulldogs in a All American 3A/4A match on Tuesday, March 21. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 1-6. Terry Sanford lost 24-13 in their recent league match against Overhills (Spring Lake, NC)
