Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting North Davidson Black Knights (Lexington, NC), 4-3 in a non-league test.

With the win, Alexander Central upgrades its record to 2-4 on the season. The Cougars host Lee County (Sanford, NC) to battle the Yellow Jackets in a non-league test on Saturday, March 16. The Yellow Jackets come into the test with a record of 7-0. Lee County won 19-6 in their recent league test against Hoke County (Raeford, NC)

With the defeat, North Davidson falls to 3-3 on the season. The Black knights host Montgomery Central (Troy, NC) to battle the Timberwolves in a Mid-Piedmont 3A test on Tuesday, March 19. The Timberwolves come into the test with a record of 2-3. Montgomery Central won 5-4 in their recent non-league test against Forest Hills (Marshville, NC)
