Spectators at Friday's league match between the Hawley Bearcats (Hawley, TX) and the visiting Anson Tigers (Anson, TX), witnessed Hawley's softball squad tip Anson by a count of 4-1.

The Bearcats now sport a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Borden County for a non-league match on Tuesday, March 19. Hawley will meet a Coyotes squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Post (Post, TX). The Coyotes record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Anson moves to 6-8 on the season. The Tigers host Haskell (Haskell, TX) to meet the Indians in a 2A Region I District 7 match on Tuesday, March 19. The Indians go into the match with a record of 10-0. Haskell won 24-0 in their recent league match against Hamlin (Hamlin, TX)
