Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 10-0 in a league challenge.

The Yellow Jackets now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Richmond for a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Lee County will face a Raiders squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Union Pines (Cameron, NC). The Raiders record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Pinecrest falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Scotland (Laurinburg, NC) to face the Fighting Scots in a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Fighting Scots enter the challenge with a record of 4-0. Scotland won 2-0 in their recent league challenge against Union Pines (Cameron, NC)
