In Friday's league match, the visiting Pioneer Diamondbacks softball squad scored a tight 10-3 win over the Vela Sabercats.

The Diamondbacks now sport a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host Valley View for a 5A Region IV District 31 match on Friday, March 22.

With the loss, Vela falls to 8-12 on the campaign. The Sabercats travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX) to face the Wolverines in a 5A Region IV District 31 match on Tuesday, March 19. The Wolverines enter the match with a record of 2-11. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial lost 17-0 in their recent league match against Pioneer (Mission, TX)
