Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Tarboro Vikings (Tarboro, NC), 21-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Seahawks now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pamlico County for a Coastal Plains 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, March 22. Southside will battle a Hurricanes squad coming off a 12-1 non-league win over White Oak (Jacksonville, NC). The Hurricanes record now stands at 7-0.

With the loss, Tarboro falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Vikings host Bertie (Windsor, NC) to battle the Falcons in a Four Rivers 1A challenge on Friday, March 18. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
