North Carolina High School Baseball - Ashe County defeats Elkin

March 16, 2023: West Jefferson, NC 28694

Spectators at Thursday's non-league battle between the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) and the visiting Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), saw Ashe County's baseball squad knock off Elkin by a count of 9-3.

Coming up next, the Huskies play the North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) in a non-league battle, on Monday, March 20. Ashe County will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Vikings enter the battle with a 4-4 record after their 2-0 league loss to Surry Central (Dobson, NC).

The Buckin' Elks now possess a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Stokes for a Northwest 1A battle on Friday, March 17. Elkin will play a Vikings squad coming off a 15-5 league win over Elkin (Elkin, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 6-2.
