The Cherokee Chiefs crushed the visiting Austin-East Roadrunners baseball team by a count of 17-0 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Chiefs now possess a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Maryville Christian for a non-league bout on Friday, March 17. Cherokee will face a Eagles team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to McMinn Central (Englewood, TN). The Eagles record now stands at 3-2.
Next, the Roadrunners face the Lenoir City Panthers (Lenoir City, TN) in a 3A District 5 battle, on Monday, March 20. Austin-East will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Panthers enter the battle with a 1-0 record after their 13-3 non-league win over Greenback (Greenback, TN).
