Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Graham G-Men (Bluefield, VA), 10-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Maroon Tide now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Auburn for a Mountain Empire challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Galax will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Amherst County (Amherst, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Graham falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The G-men travel to Richlands (Richlands, VA) to battle the Blue Tornado in a Southwest challenge on Monday, March 27. The Blue Tornado enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
