Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Harlingen Cardinals (Harlingen, TX), 21-19 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host Los Fresnos for a 6A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Weslaco will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Rivera (Brownsville, TX). The Falcons record now stands at 20-3.

With the loss, Harlingen falls to 10-9 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Hanna (Brownsville, TX) to battle the Golden Eagles in a 6A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 8-12. Hanna lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against San Benito (San Benito, TX)
