Midland Valley Mustangs (Graniteville, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad smash the host Richland Northeast Cavaliers (Columbia, SC), 35-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Airport for a AAAA Region 4 challenge on Friday, March 17. Midland Valley will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 10-3 non-league win over Irmo (Columbia, SC). The Eagles record now stands at 6-1.

In their next game, the Cavaliers clash with the Irmo Yellowjackets (Columbia, SC) in a AAAA Region 5 game, on Tuesday, March 21. Richland Northeast will attempt to move on its 0-5 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the game with a 1-6 record after their 10-3 non-league loss to Airport (West Columbia, SC).
