Phoenix Pirates (Phoenix, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host North Valley Knights (Grants Pass, OR), 16-2 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rogue River for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 21.

With the loss, North Valley falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Knights host Klamath Union (Klamath Falls, OR) to face the Pelicans in a 4A Skyline challenge on Saturday, March 18. The Pelicans enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
