Bagdad Sultans (Bagdad, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Winslow Bulldogs (Winslow, AZ), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Sultans now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host San Pasqual Valley for a 1A West challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Bagdad will face a Warriors squad coming off a 22-2 league loss to Desert Heights Prep (Glendale, AZ). The Warriors record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Winslow falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Snowflake (Snowflake, AZ) to face the Lobos in a 3A East challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Lobos enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Snowflake lost 4-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Wickenburg (Wickenburg, AZ)
