Coronado Islanders (Coronado, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Coastal Academy Stingrays (Oceanside, CA), 11-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Islanders now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Westminster for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 16. Coronado will battle a Lions squad coming off a 23-2 non-league loss to Oceanside (Oceanside, CA). The Lions record now stands at 3-12.

With the loss, Coastal Academy falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Stingrays travel to Foothills Christian (El Cajon, CA) to battle the Knights in a Coastal challenge on Wednesday, March 20. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Foothills Christian won 6-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Bishop's (La Jolla, CA)
