Stratford Spartans (Houston, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Seven Lakes Spartans (Katy, TX), 7-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now sport a 12-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cypress Ridge for a 6A Region III District 17 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Stratford will face a Rams squad coming off a 14-7 league loss to Memorial (Houston, TX). The Rams record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Seven Lakes falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Spartans host Katy (Katy, TX) to face the Tigers in a 6A Region III District 19 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 21-1. Katy won 16-0 in their recent league challenge against Cinco Ranch (Katy, TX)
