North Carolina High School Softball - Ashley topped by Hoggard

In Wednesday's league contest, the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), by a margin of 17-2.

With the triumph, Hoggard moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Vikings travel to South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to play the Cougars in a Mideastern 3A/4A contest on Friday, March 19. The Cougars come into the contest with a record of 0-1. South Brunswick lost 8-1 in their recent league contest against North Brunswick (Leland, NC)

In their next game, the Screaming Eagle play the North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A contest, on Tuesday, March 23. Ashley will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Scorpions come into the contest with a 2-0 record after their 8-1 league win over South Brunswick (Southport, NC).
