The Pleasant Grove Spartans baseball team scored 17 runs and limited the visiting Wenonah Dragons to 15 in the Spartans league victory on Thursday.
The Spartans (2-5) will now prepare for their match against Fairfield (Fairfield, AL). The Tigers go into the 5A Area 9 match with a 4-1 record. In their last match, Fairfield edged Midfield (Midfield, AL), 12-1, in a non-league match.
The Dragons (0-9) will now prepare for their bout against Bessemer City (Bessemer, AL). The Tigers enter the non-league bout with a 1-6 record. In their last bout, Bessemer City by Shades Valley (Birmingham, AL), 25-0, in a non-league bout.
