Incarnate Word Shamrocks (San Antonio, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Southwest Dragons (San Antonio, TX), 14-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Shamrocks now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Vernia for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 22. Incarnate Word will battle a Bears squad coming off a 10-4 non-league loss to Antonian Prep (San Antonio, TX). The Bears record now stands at 8-11.

With the loss, Southwest falls to 3-13 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to Floresville (Floresville, TX) to battle the Tigers in a 5A Region IV District 28 challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 11-9. Floresville lost 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Santa Gertrudis Academy (Kingsville, TX)
