The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC) and the host West Columbus Vikings (Cerro Gordo, NC), saw Lakewood's softball squad nip West Columbus by a count of 18-13.

The Leopards now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Union for a Carolina 1A match on Tuesday, March 22. Lakewood will face a Spartans squad coming off a 11-0 non-league win over Jones (Trenton, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, West Columbus falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to St. Pauls (St. Pauls, NC) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Friday, March 18. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 1-4. St. Pauls lost 10-0 in their recent non-league match against Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC)
