Spectators at Friday's non-league battle between the Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) and the visiting James River Knights (Buchanan, VA), saw Amherst County's baseball squad beat James River by a margin of 18-8.

Coming up next, the Lancers play the Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) in a non-league battle, on Monday, March 20. Amherst County will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record. The Governors enter the battle with a 1-1 record after their 4-1 league loss to Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA).

The Knights now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Waynesboro for a non-league battle on Tuesday, March 21.
