The Emerald Vikings baseball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Ninety Six Wildcats to 8 in the Vikings non-league victory on Friday.
The Vikings (4-1) will now prepare for their match against Woodruff (Woodruff, SC). The Wolverines go into the 3A Region 4 match with a 5-2 record. In their last match, Woodruff was edged by Chesnee (Chesnee, SC), 4-2, in a non-league match.
The Wildcats (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Newberry (Newberry, SC). The Bulldogs go into the 2A Region 2 match with a 1-3 record. In their last match, Newberry was edged by Fountain Inn (Fountain Inn, SC), 7-3, in a non-league match.
