In Friday's non-league battle, the visiting Polk County Wolverines soccer squad scored a close 3-0 triumph over the Avery County Vikings.
The Wolverines (5-0) will now prepare for their battle against R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC). The Hilltoppers come into the Mountain Foothills Seven 2A battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, R-S Central by East Rutherford (Forest City, NC), 2-0, in a league battle.
The Vikings (1-4) will now prepare for their battle against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars come into the Western Highlands 1A/2A battle with a 0-0 record.
