Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Pacifica Tritons (Oxnard, CA), 9-0 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Buena for a Pacific View challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Rio Mesa will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 11-8 league loss to Ventura (Ventura, CA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, Pacifica falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Tritons travel to Ventura (Ventura, CA) to battle the Cougars in a Pacific View challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 4-4. Ventura won 11-8 in their recent league game against Buena (Ventura, CA)
