The crowd at Monday's league bout between the Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC) and the visiting Aiken Fighting Green Hornets (Aiken, SC), observed Gilbert's softball team notch a victory over Aiken by a final score of 12-2.
The Indians (4-1) will now prepare for their bout against South Aiken (Aiken, SC). The Thoroughbreds go into the non-league bout with a 2-7 record. In their last bout, South Aiken was routed by Airport (West Columbia, SC), 13-2, in a league bout.
In their next game, the Fighting Green Hornets battle the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles (West Columbia, SC) in a AAAA Region 4 bout, on Wednesday, March 19. Aiken will attempt to better on its 0-4 season record. The War Eagles go into the bout with a 10-1 record after their 9-6 league win over North Augusta (North Augusta, SC).
