In Friday's league game, the host Pine Tree Pirates baseball team scored a tight 4-0 victory over the Marshall Mavericks.
The Pirates (4-7) will now prepare for their game against Spring Hill (Longview, TX). The Panthers go into the non-league game with a 12-2 record. In their last game, Spring Hill tipped Henderson (Henderson, TX), 8-3, in a league game.
The Mavericks (3-1) will now prepare for their game against Sulphur Springs (Sulphur Springs, TX). The Wildcats go into the 5A Region II District 15 game with a 2-4 record. In their last game, Sulphur Springs was overwhelmed by Naaman Forest (Garland, TX), 3-1, in a non-league game.
