The Patrick County Cougars softball team scored 15 runs and limited the visiting Gretna Hawks to 0 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Patrick County moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Cougars host Floyd County (Floyd, VA) to clash with the Buffaloes in a non-league game on Tuesday, March 22. The Buffaloes come into the game with a record of 0-2. Floyd County lost 9-4 in their recent non-league game against Bassett (Bassett, VA)

In their next game, the Hawks clash with the Tunstall Trojans (Dry Fork, VA) in a non-league game, on Monday, March 21. Gretna will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Trojans come into the game with a 0-2 record after their 9-0 non-league loss to Dan River (Ringgold, VA).
