In Friday's league contest, the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC), by a margin of 10-1.

With the triumph, Pinecrest moves its record to 3-4 on the year. The Patriots travel to Scotland (Laurinburg, NC) to play the Fighting Scots in a Sandhills 3A/4A contest on Tuesday, March 22. The Fighting Scots come into the contest with a record of 7-0. Scotland won 1-0 in their recent non-league contest against Marlboro County (Bennettsville, SC)

In their next game, the Yellow Jackets play the Richmond Raiders (Rockingham, NC) in a Sandhills 3A/4A contest, on Monday, March 21. Lee County will attempt to move on its 0-3 season record. The Raiders come into the contest with a 5-1 record after their 12-0 league win over Union Pines (Cameron, NC).
