Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sherman Bearcats (Sherman, TX), 13-7 in a league challenge.

The Leopards now sport a 8-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to McKinney North for a 5A Region II District 10 challenge on Tuesday, March 22. Lovejoy will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 13-1 league loss to Rock Hill (Frisco, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-7.

With the loss, Sherman falls to 6-12 on the campaign. The Bearcats host The Colony (The Colony, TX) to face the Cougars in a 5A Region II District 10 challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. The Colony won 14-2 in their recent league battle against Princeton (Princeton, TX)
