The crowd at Friday's league match between the Madisonville Mustangs (Madisonville, TX) and the visiting Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX), saw Madisonville's softball squad achieve victory over Mexia by a count of 18-7.

The Mustangs now sport a 9-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Vega for a 4A Region III District 18 match on Tuesday, March 22. Madisonville will face a Pirates squad coming off a 5-1 league loss to China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Mexia falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Black cats travel to Connally (Waco, TX) to face the Cadets in a 4A Region III District 18 test on Tuesday, March 22. The Cadets come into the test with a record of 5-11. Connally lost 10-2 in their recent league test against Robinson (Robinson, TX)
