The Clovis Wildcats baseball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Mayfield Trojans to 8 in the Wildcats non-league victory on Saturday.
The Wildcats (5-7) will now prepare for their match against Portales (Portales, NM). The Rams go into the non-league match with a 3-1 record. In their last match, Portales was edged by Highland (Albuquerque, NM), 9-0, in a non-league match.
The Trojans (5-6) will now prepare for their match against Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM). The Bulldawgs go into the 5A District 3 match with a 7-3 record. In their last match, Las Cruces tipped Bel Air (El Paso, TX), 13-0, in a non-league match.
