In Saturday's non-league contest, the Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA) softball team overwhelmed the host Oxnard Yellowjackets (Oxnard, CA), by a margin of 8-1.

With the triumph, Rio Mesa moves its record to 5-3 on the year. The Spartans host Buena (Ventura, CA) to play the Bulldogs in a contest on Friday, March 24. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a record of 0-2. Buena lost 12-0 in their recent non-league contest against Oak Park (Oak Park, CA)
