The Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) softball nipped the host Pike County Central Hawks (Pikeville, KY), 4-3 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Red Devils (3-2) will now prepare for their bout against Rowan County (Morehead, KY). The Vikings go into the non-league bout with a 1-0 record. In their last bout, Rowan County held off Estill County (Irvine, KY), 6-2, in a non-league bout.
The Hawks now possess a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Perry County Central for a non-league bout on Monday, March 20. Pike County Central will confront a Commodores squad coming off a 11-10 non-league win over Pikeville (Pikeville, KY). The Commodores record now stands at 2-0.
