East Central Hornets (Moss Point, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS), 18-0 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Vancleave for a 5A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. East Central will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Gulf Breeze (Gulf Breeze, FL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Laurel falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Golden tornadoes travel to Gautier (Gautier, MS) to battle the Gators in a 5A Region 4 challenge on Thursday, March 21. The Gators enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Gautier lost 13-0 in their recent league challenge against Stone (Wiggins, MS)
