Stone Memorial Panthers (Crossville, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Monterey Wildcats (Monterey, TN), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host DeKalb County for a 3A District 7 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Stone Memorial will face a Tigers squad coming off a 17-1 league win over Cumberland County (Crossville, TN). The Tigers record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Monterey falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Watertown (Watertown, TN) to face the Purple Tigers in a 2A District 6 challenge on Thursday, March 21. The Purple Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Watertown won 20-1 in their recent league challenge against Jackson County (Gainesboro, TN)
