The Smithfield-Selma Spartans softball team scored 16 runs and limited the visiting Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs to 10 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Smithfield-Selma moves its record to 1-6 on the year. The Spartans travel to Fike (Wilson, NC) to clash with the Demons in a Quad County 3A game on Tuesday, March 19. The Demons come into the game with a record of 2-5. Fike lost 15-0 in their recent league game against South Johnston (Four Oaks, NC)

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the Fuquay - Varina Bengals (Fuquay-Varina, NC) in a Greater Neuse River 4A game, on Tuesday, March 19. Southeast Raleigh will attempt to move on its 1-5 season record. The Bengals come into the game with a 5-3 record after their 18-5 non-league win over Eastern Alamance (Mebane, NC).
